Actalent Senior Electrical Engineer in Beaverton, Oregon

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer/Electrical PE

Actalent is actively looking to hire a licensed Electrical PE with experience in the industrial facilities and/or power industries, to support a consulting client in the Portland Metro area!

Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is the first to be consulted for any construction project related to electrical systems. Early in the lifecycle, they assess feasibility of new projects. They later develop more detailed scope through field walks and collaboration with facilities operations partners and project engineers from other disciplines. During detailed design and construction, our project engineers serve as the owner's representative to provide technical guidance and issue resolutions.

These engineers are the primary leaders of scope, have strong knowledge of client specifications and standards, and use change control process to improve those standards and drive innovative solutions. The ideal candidate must be able to develop and implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program cost and construction schedules. You will be working at a technology development site therefore the ability to develop and transfer specifications to other client sites is critical.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Discipline scope and engineering solutions which include schedule, budget and safety requirements for construction projects.

  • Interface and coordinate with General contractor / supplier design, construction, scheduling, and estimating teams.

  • Interfaces and coordinates with Design, Construction, and internal organizations to enable facility design efforts for area of expertise.

  • Lead inter-discipline coordination efforts, work groups, and collaborate closely with other disciplines to define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, develop design concepts, and oversee completion of design life cycle.

  • Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met.

  • Work together with our factory, operations, and supply chain partners to deliver some of the most technically challenging projects in the world with demanding schedule and cost constraints.

  • Ensure that work being performed is code compliant and meets policies and expectations.

  • Provide input on design reviews, constructability, contractor performance, and coordination with construction resources to manage discipline schedule and budget.

  • Ensures accuracy of estimating tied to scope of work and linkage to project schedules.

Qualifications

  • BSEE or MSEE degree

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within the industrial facilities, power generation and distribution, and/or any other large scale power-related electrical project background

  • PE License required - EIT's may be contacted for other upcoming opportunities

This is a Consult-to-Conversion opportunity, working as a consultant for Actalent for 6 months and then transitioning to direct

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring most days on-site in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area, with light remote day options
