The annual base salary for this position ranges from $122,000.00 in our lowest geographic market to $288,500.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for an Expert to lead the strategy and execution of innovation projects within a specific vertical or focus area. Initially, this will be Community Experiences but could change or expand to include retail, commerce, or other areas. Ideally, you will have domain expertise in Community, but also be adaptable and willing to support and lead other areas of focus. We empower you to be the leader for a new business and responsible for building the team and capabilities, setting the strategy, scoping and driving consumer research and rapid validation, and working with partners to ensure successful alignment and transition into the enterprise.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial leader who can balance building something from scratch while also developing a team and bringing key collaborators and executives along on the journey! We have a strong understanding and experience in applying design thinking, lean startup, and/or other consumer-centric frameworks. Working in corporate innovation or corporate venture is a plus but translatable experience related to standing up new ventures or starting new initiatives in a large company or institution setting, is welcome. This leader needs to combine visionary and critical thinking with a sharp focus on execution and driving results. Strong relationship building and collaborator management are critical, as is a collaborative team spirit.

What you will work on

Community Experiences

  • Oversee the Community vertical on the AIC DC portfolio and in partnership with Nike Direct

  • Map comprehensive strategy + corresponding roadmap for all Community projects

  • Communicate + socialize plan with leadership across AIC and Nike securing cross-functional alignment with partners in Nike, AIC, and Global Tech.

  • Scope and drive 2 – 3 projects for rapid validation in each fiscal year – involves defining the hypotheses, working with design researchers to conduct consumer research, defining rapid validation tests, and working with tech partners to implement, synthesizing insights and developing integration plans.

  • Oversee day-to-day of Community projects/workstreams including project scope, EOs, finances, external resources, build internal partner relationships, agencies, etc.

  • Represent AIC DC within AIC and the Enterprise on all things Community as well as on Digital Experience capabilities. Be a constant source for ideas and opportunities related to Community.

Digital Experiences Team Support

  • Support leadership in the development of the ND x AIC partner model as a key member of the working group

  • Be a key member of the Digital Experiences Extended Leadership Team working closely with other Experts and Studio leads

  • Contribute to team culture and bring innovative ideas and experience to the way the team works.

Who you will work with

You will report to the Head of Digital Experience Innovation and work closely with other Experts on the team as well as colleagues across the AIC Digital Capabilities team and AIC. A key aspect of this role is a partnership with Nike’s Direct Digital business unit where you will be expected to build a trusted relationship with leaders and counterparts in the appropriate groups in the organization including Membership, Digital Product, Global Technology and others.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training

  • 8+ years of overall working experience related to innovation or entrepreneurship

  • Experience starting and building a new venture or initiative from scratch – either inside a large organization or as a standalone statup including conceptualizing, building a team, securing funding, and getting results.

  • Experience working within a large corporation or institution in the venture, innovation, corporate development, strategy or other area.

  • Ability to work independently but also be a strong teammate.

  • Familiarity and comfort with setting and working towards key success metrics, and P&L results.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced work, and dealing with a corporate matrix.
