Job Description Summary

The GE Aerospace Dayton Cores and Castings Team is going through a tremendous amount of growth. The GE Aerospace Dayton Cores and Castings Team is delivering world class Turbine Airfoil Cores and Castings through speed, innovation, and collaboration by disrupting the industry with manufacturing technology, being the fastest NPI development in the industry, supporting our supply base, and delivering on critical business needs. Lean is critical to our continued success. The Lean Manager will teach and coach the organization on principles and tools in order to drive cultural transformation resulting in improved performance across operational business metrics.

Individual contributor position, no direct reports.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Lean Transformation:

  • Support the site’s Lean Transformation through the implementation of value stream model lines.

  • Lead the development of Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Roadmaps to close gaps in operational business metrics.

  • Sustain and improve the site’s Daily Management System (Daily Management Meetings, Leader Standard Work, Genba Walks, and At Point Problem Solving).

  • Deploy standard work as the foundation for everyone to continually improve their work.

  • Coach teams in effective problem solving (Define, Analyze, Countermeasure, & Sustain).

  • Drive the development and closure of action plans.

  • Act as a resource to educate, coach, and practice lean principles and tools.

  • Align site to GE Aerospace’s Lean Operating Model - Flight Deck, at both an enterprise and individual level.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university AND a Minimum of 3 years of lean manufacturing experience.

  • OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of lean manufacturing experience.

  • Experience working in manufacturing, specifically in a shop floor environment.

  • Experience training others in principles of Lean methodology.
