Eaton Corporation Training Specialist - Technical Applications in Beaumont, Texas

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering & Services (EESS) division is currently seeking a Training Specialist - Technical Applications!

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91,500 - $134,200 a year.

What you’ll do:

• Be responsible for the development, delivery, and facilitation of instructor-led and virtual technical, safety, and power systems trainings.

• Be a contributing member of the EESS training department, supporting and coordinating training events, including but not limited to, set-up, scheduling, travel, equipment, and material needs in conjunction with training coordinators and other personnel.

• Create, maintain, and update curricula, lesson plans, and classroom reference materials.

• Be responsible for student evaluations, course evaluations, cost tracking, and continuous improvement efforts within training programs

• Apply knowledge of safe electrical work practices as described in National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standard 70E and OSHA 1910 Subpart S.

• Instruct, and demonstrate expertise, around the commissioning and maintenance of electrical power distribution products and assemblies, including power circuit breakers, motor control centers, unit substations and power transformers, and protective relays.

• Collaborate with sales and marketing functions to develop customer training programs and opportunities.

• Support the development of technical training paths for customers, employees, and training team members alike.

• Provide strategic guidance for technical competency and upskilling initiatives based on market/ commercial needs, new product launches, and safety and innovation programs.

• Serve as mentor and provide technical guidance to other training staff; support development of adjunct training personnel to support scaling of technical competency.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution OR in lieu of a degree, completion of technical certification from an accredited trade school, electrical apprenticeship program, or military equivalent.

• Minimum of (5) years of experience evaluating, testing, installing, or maintaining industrial and commercial power systems equipment.

• Must be able to work in the US without corporate sponsorship

• No relocation offered, candidates within 50-mile radius of work locations considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• Ability to travel 25-35% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience evaluating, testing, installing, or maintaining industrial and commercial power systems equipment.

• In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA practices as related to electrical industry and safety standards

• Advanced power systems, relaying, medium voltage drives and controls, or switchgear testing experience

Skills:

• Ability to lift, move and set up demonstration equipment of various weight up to 40 pounds and move wheeled-demonstration equipment weighing in excess of 40 pounds

• Professional presence and an ability to build rapport with a variety of personalities in multiple levels of the organization.

• Excellent communication skills, organizational and time management abilities

• Proficiency in the tools required for the development of new training materials including Microsoft platforms, learning management systems, and electrical system software.

• Ability to learn and implement new delivery methods and/or champion change in product, technical, or field programs through instruction.
