As Executive Director of Public Equities, you will manage the capital invested in public equity-oriented funds and strategies across multiple Cleveland Clinic portfolios for superior investment returns. Other essential responsibilities in this role include assisting the VPCIO in tactical investment decisions, functioning as a CC internal advisor, reviewing individual and target date fund performances, researching new funding options and advising the Investment Working Group and/or Retirement Committee on implementing recommended adjustments. You will lead with diligence, focusing on motivating fellow team members, leadership entities and other Cleveland Clinic staff. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts to enhance their experience via effective financial and assets management can make a lasting difference in their lives and the community you serve every day.

A caregiver in this position works a hybrid schedule from 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with occasional domestic/international travel requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Monitor the performance, risk profile, portfolio positions, current events and organizational changes of CCIO's existing public equity managers.

• Complete analytical reviews to evaluate the relative performance of each sub portfolio and/or investment theme, presenting the conclusions to CCIO staff and other stakeholders.

• Manage the underwriting or re-underwriting of individual fund managers on a regular basis.

• Prepare and present portfolio level analysis and dashboards.

• Make recommendations regarding new investment opportunities and manager terminations to CCIO staff, Cleveland Clinic leadership and the Investment Committee.

• Structure and negotiate the terms of CCIO's investments in consultation with the VPCIO.

• Work with the Managing Director of Risk, Operations and Performance on operational due diligence evaluations and utilizing CCIO's risk management system to evaluate prospective investments.

• Work with Cleveland Clinic's internal/external legal counsel to evaluate legal contracts.

• Monitor the evolution of public equity investment universe and maintains a network with the outside investment community to expand CCIO knowledge regarding emerging investment opportunities and top performing investment managers and strategies that could be included in Cleveland Clinic's portfolios.

• Make recommendations on portfolio rebalancing decisions for the public equity portfolio and work with CCIO staff on rebalancing initiatives for other asset classes in the portfolio.

• Compose and deliver well-organized and effective verbal/written presentations to key internal stakeholders, including Cleveland Clinic's Board Committees.

• Manage expenses to meet annual budget and business and strategic goals.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Master's Degree in a related area such as Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering or a similar quantitatively oriented discipline

• 15 years of professional experience in making direct investment or evaluating third-party investment partnerships for a university endowment, foundation, healthcare institution or family office

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA)

• Experience in both domestic and international investment markets

• Strong technological and analytical skills

• Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg, Nasdaq's eVestment, and Blackrock's Aladdin. Knowledge of Dynamo, Optica (Cambridge Associates), Burgiss Private I, and BNYMellon's ICO proficiency

• Understanding of investments, endowment and pension fund performance reporting and core concepts in risk management

• Exceptional organizational, people management and project management skills

• Demonstrated record of excellence, integrity and professionalism

• Can handle confidential information with discretion

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $180.90

Maximum hourly: $391.20
