What role you will play in our team

Help grow our ProxximaTM polyolefin thermoset system business. These resin formulations are based on cyclic C5 monomers and other proprietary monomers and additives. Our catalyst formulations have strong foundations in Nobel Prize-winning technology developed by Professor Robert Grubbs and his research team. This powerful combination produces polymers that have the capability to outperform today’s thermoset composite solutions across a broad set of everyday applications such as wind turbine blades, electric vehicle parts, construction, and anticorrosion coatings.

Your role is to help prospective customers around the world convert from their existing thermoset products to ProxximaTM polyolefin thermoset systems by demonstrating cycle time, weight, and physical performance advantages on their composite fabrication equipment.

Your office is at the Baytown Technology and Engineering Complex located in Baytown, Texas. However, a significant part of your time will be spent collaborating with commercial colleagues located at the ExxonMobil Campus in Spring, Texas, as well as occasionally traveling in North America and internationally to support customer trials.

What you will do

• Produce composite samples using vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), pultrusion, and filament winding equipment

• Produce non-reinforced, reaction injection molded (RIM) samples using RIM equipment

• Personally run this equipment to produce samples for ongoing customer development and in-house product and application development projects

• Collect and store data in lab notebooks and long-term repositories

• Organize data sets for use in technical information reports and advertising brochures

• Maintain stock of supplies needed for ongoing laboratory operations

About you

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering

• 3 yrs. of experience fabricating thermoset composites

• Hands-on attitude and comfortable working on and around equipment

• Safety oriented with experience using standard operating procedures to conduct work

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

• Proficient in use of computers and possess excellent administrative skills and attention to detail

• Self-motivated and driven to advance
