Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Track Coach's to join our team. The ideal candidates should have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of track and field, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to helping athletes reach their full potential. The Assistant Track Coach assists the Head Coach by organizing and coaching the City of Baytown Youth Summer Track Program; this position assists with conducting practices, motivating and instructing athletes.
Duties
Assist in planning, developing and implementing the track program in accordance with TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) and Hershey’s league policies and procedures.
Assist in training, instructing and supervising athletes in a variety of track skills and techniques; teaches rules, conduct and safety; provides a variety of guidance, instruction and experience to enhance athlete’s personal, physical and social growth and development.
Assist in planning and conducting regularly scheduled practice sessions.
Assist in coaching and supervising athletes during track meets.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
First Aid and CPR certified.
Track & Field Experience
Preferred:
Two years directly related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Motivational, effective communication, behavior management skills with the ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public. Track coaching techniques; be familiar with track rules and regulations.
