Position Purpose:

Responsible for performing four or more accounting/HR support functions including: Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Collections, and journal entries. Completes complex special projects and provides support for internal and external audits and annual activities including budget preparation. Properly prioritizes daily tasks, supports a high volume of transactions with few or no quality issues and and takes initiative to identify areas where skills and experience can benefit others within or outside of the accounting department.

The Accounting Coordinator III requires training, guidance, and problem solving support from their supervisor on an infrequent basis. The position is expected to continually work on accounting skill development and enhancing their knowledge of the accounting processes and procedures.

Primary Duties/responsibilities:

  • Prepare schedules to support month-end accruals.

  • Complete complex special projects and assist with yearly activities such as budgeting.

  • Prepare written processes and procedures.

  • Create customized financial reports.

  • Works with local Operations to ensure timely processing and coding of AP to ensure accurate and reliable financial statements.

  • Better controls in place to ensure all Accounts Payable is under the umbrella of Finance.

  • Continue to ensure direct-to-3rd Party manifests are billed to customers

  • Continue to post disposal costs to the disposal log and identify where we have low or upside down margins and correct pricing to our customers

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required

  • Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline preferred

  • Prior related work experience of 8 years required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to perform Accounting Coordinator II duties and responsibilities

  • Strong team player

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines

  • Strong customer orientation

  • Computer proficient

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills including use of complex formulas, simple macros, Vlookup functions, pivot tables and data graphing.

  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and technical requirements
