Job Title: Fleet Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Fleet Mechanic for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday) with on-call duties every 4 weeks. You will receive $100 for being on call and an hourly/overtime rate if called in. The primary responsibility includes performing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and tractor trailers. Day-to-day tasks involve maintaining refrigerated storage trailers and transports, diagnosing diesel engine issues, signing off paperwork for DOT compliance, and working with air systems. You will also follow company policies, SOP, and Quality Standards, which will be covered in training.

Work Environment

You will work in a fleet garage located next to a manufacturing facility. The garage has three separate bays and is heated for the summer. This is a typical repair shop environment within a milk distribution facility serving the entire state of Michigan. Additionally, the facility produces ice cream and is recognized as one of the top-performing plants in the country.
