What You'll Do:

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will assist with the maintenance and upkeep of our facility. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring the physical well-being and safety of our residents

Key Responsibilities for a Maintenance Assistant:

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs, to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and systems throughout the facility

• Help maintain the exterior grounds of the facility, including snow removal, and outdoor maintenance, to create a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, staff, and visitors

• Assist the Maintenance Director performing regular inspections and maintenance on facility equipment, such as elevators, generators, and fire safety systems, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the safety of residents and staff

• Replenish stock as needed to support maintenance operations and minimize downtime

• Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, housekeeping, and administration, to address maintenance-related issues, respond to resident requests, and support the overall functioning of the facility

• Safely drives residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations according to assigned schedule

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Maintenance Assistant:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance or related field preferred

• Knowledge of basic maintenance principles, techniques, and tools

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and quality standards

• Commitment to upholding safety standards, regulatory compliance, and ethical conduct in all aspects of maintenance operations

• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations

• Compassion, patience, and empathy in working with seniors

• Current driver’s license and excellent driving record is required
