Job Overview:

Senior Project Engineer will coordinate and review inputs from the various functional department and out house contractors contributing to the execution on the project. They also coordinate and ensure the generation of deliverables/ reports/ procedures required for the project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation and implementation of Project Execution Plan (PEP)

  • Coordinate and review of all inputs and changes to the project plan, scope of work, drawings and specifications. Log and evaluate impact of all changes in the Desk Top Change Management System (DTCMS)

  • Monitor work in progress and prepares weekly report of the status of each activity

  • Ensure all procedures and calculations are submitted the client for review and approval. Monitors their approvals with client

  • Attend the Weekly Progress Meetings (Internal as well as with Client) and prepares the Minutes of Meetings

  • Review the project plan along with the project planner/ production engineers and prepare subcontract package for any works which require to be outsourced

  • Review and update of any scope of work documents produced by the respective functional departments and identify changes and assist in preparation of change orders

  • Coordinate and ensure that engineering and associated drafting work is carried out by the respective operational personnel in accordance with the specifications and schedule

  • Coordinate with the project quality manager to ensure that the work is being performed per the QC plans

  • Coordinate with Senior Production Engineers and offshore operations engineers day-to-day progress of work activities on the project, identify constraints and facilitate solutions

  • Coordinate with the project procurement manager/ coordinator to ensure that the materials are delivered per the schedule by resolving technical queries as required

  • Ensure that lessons learned are implemented by the project engineers, field engineers and production engineers and that lessons learned on the project are documented in the data base

  • Adhere to Company Safety standards and promote safety culture among the ranks across the company

  • The role will include liaising between client construction management, welding engineers and production engineers and ensuring that technical queries, concerns, information requests initiated by the client and/or contractor are resolved and closed out effectively

  • Additionally, the role will involve material and sub-contract order status monitoring and assessment against the fabrication schedule to ensure that issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner

  • The role will also involve a responsibility to assist with maintaining smooth relations with the client through creating a collaborative culture and open communication whilst being mindful of commercially sensitive information and contractual requirements, risks and opportunities

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • BSc (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equal)

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in project execution

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Interface Lead / Coordinator / Manager

  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and control the work of others at internal and external project interfaces which are essential to the technical development of the project and to achieving project cost, schedule, and scope targets

  • Experience to conduct interface between Fabrication Yard, subcontractor, consortium partner, home office PMT and engineering

  • Must have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and issues and develop effective risk management strategies

  • Must be highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, disciplines, and priorities

  • Ensure effective communications among engineering disciplines

  • Prepare high level overall weekly & monthly project progress report/presentation, review with PMT

  • Identify site progress bottlenecks and provide solutions (Problem Solving)

  • Coordinate with all departments at BFY and globally

  • Prepare & Closeout all project documents including Specification Deviation Requests, TQs, etc.

  • Communicate with COMPANY

  • Chair and Minute Internal & External Meetings

  • Exhibit a high level of HSE awareness. A Safety Leader who encourages others to become Safety Leaders
