Data Engineer - Business Intelligence Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze requirements and designs effective BI solutions to meet business needs.

• Coordinate with the Project Team, rest of the IT group and business users in selecting the appropriate BI tool(s)

for each requirement.

• Works with the business team &/or project team to ensure tight fit between BI environment and business

requirements.

• Work with Database Administrator to ensure that data is efficiently managed, accessible, and leveraged for systematic purposes.

• Develops the best practices in the development of BI reports.

• Advocate for the continuous improvement of the standards and best practices within the area of

Business Intelligence and reporting.

• Troubleshoots BI tool problems and tunes for performance.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Pertinent experience in Data Modelling and Data Model normalization

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required. Power BI or Tableau experience preferred.

• In depth knowledge of data warehousing theories and techniques and multi-dimensional design

• Strong knowledge of SQL

• Solid knowledge in ETL (Extract Transform Load) methodologies using tools/scripts and/or have experience doing data integration using ETL tools, and ETL methodology.

• Strong knowledge/proficiency of relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle) and Business Intelligence area.

• Understanding of design and development tools, SDLC methodologies and techniques, preferred

• Curious & Critical Thinker – ability to transform data into actionable insights.

• Experience of working in agile (SCRUM) is an advantage.

• Adept data storytelling and visualization – proficiency on creating solutions which aligns not only with the business requirements but as well as the company’s branding.

• Ability to comprehend complex technical and business concepts and adapt quickly to changes.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

• Experience on Azure cloud is a plus

Good to have skills:

• Knowledge in Big Data / Data Science

• In-depth knowledge in Power BI, SSIS, SSAS and Visual Studio

• Knowledge in Informatica, SSIS and/or Snowflake
