Custom Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Teacher Engagement Leader, the Teacher Engagement Coordinator contributes to the development of novice teachers by serving as an extended resource after the completion of TIPS. The Teacher Engagement Coordinator will assist the Teacher Engagement Office in its efforts to ensure that novice teachers are continually provided information on best educational practices, Florida standards, and Polk County community involvement by distributing education related articles, facilitating live and electronic group chats, and building teacher team and culture building while reinforcing our School District#s mission and vision.

Essential Functions of this Job

Build relationships and collaborate across the school district to understand and meet new teacher engagement needs, while providing high levels of internal customer service. Understand and meet the engagement needs of differing teacher certification areas. Collaborate with peers across the school district (e.g., school based administrators, PR, recruiting) to maximize the impact of their activities on new teacher engagement and retention. Multitask and work, with accuracy. Successfully manage and implement key projects from start to finish. Work with PCPS partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement new engagement programs, tools, processes, etc. that enrich the new teacher experience and reinforce a positive school culture. Help develop, implement, and maintain multiple modes to solicit and analyze teacher feedback. Use a range of employee feedback to regularly update/inform engagement, communication, and culture-building activities. Collect, analyze, and maintain data to measure the success of engagement initiatives. Assist with the development and coordination of engagement events plans. Track projects and proactively plan and manage event logistics. Assist in the facilitation and management of a sustainable rewards and teacher recognition program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proven track record planning and rolling out employee events. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as a comprehensive understanding of strategies, tools, and tactics for delivering effective communications. Strong interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to build relationships and effectively connect with others, an approachable demeanor (be viewed as a responsive resource for employees and leaders). Strong organization and project management skills to develop and track events and activities. Strong analytical skills and the ability to visually present data in an understandable and engaging way. Strong presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with and engage audiences of differing levels (teachers and administrators, etc.). Highly motivated, with an enthusiasm for teacher/employee engagement and a desire to seek out new ways to engage with teachers; an openness to investigating, evaluating, and implementing new and cutting-edge techniques to facilitate communication and engagement activities. Amazing and engaging social skills; fun, energizing, and able to keep a cool head in hectic situations. Confident decision-maker who can work independently. Creativity and criticalthinking skills; excellent problem solver. Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and make the best use of limited resources. Ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to quickly learn and understand other company applications.

Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements

Bachelor#s Degree in education, human resources, or business. Previous teaching experience preferred. Some previous experience conducting, leading, or facilitating groups of professional employee events.

Work Context:

Requires sitting, standing, walking and potentially running to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones, radios and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.

Physical Environment:

Requires working indoors and outdoors in various weather-related conditions. Requires sitting, standing and moving about during the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires travel to schools and work sites within the District.
