Jacobs Programme Delivery Manager in Barrow, United Kingdom

Your Impact:

The Defence & Security business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, design and engineering support, along with delivery of challenging Defence projects, to major clients in the UK at a variety of Sites across the nuclear and defence industries, including HMNB Clyde, HMNB Devonport, BAES Barrow and AWE Aldermaston. Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in the Middle East and Australia. About the Opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Delivery Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team on a new infrastructure design contract based in Barrow-in-Furness. This role will form part of the leadership function with specific responsibility for the delivery to scope, schedule, cost and risk envelope of circa 15 multidisciplinary projects. The majority of these projects will be buildings orientated and set in an industrial context. Successful applicant should have high-level experience of running large project teams, motivating individuals, resolving conflicts, and always ensuring extremely high safety standards. Strong experience in managing design of buildings should be evident.   • Experience of major program and project management;

  • Significant experience of managing projects in the buildings sector;

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of project delivery with experience delivering major projects;

  • Managing multidisciplinary teams in a highly regulated environment;

  • Understanding of CDM regulations;

  • Knowledge of modern methods of construction including off site prefabrication, and Early Contractor Involvement;

  • Leading integration including technical, programme, contractual and spatial;

  • Past experience of integrating new facilities into a live operational environment.

  • Driving standardisation into design, schedules and cost.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Degree qualified in an architectural or engineering discipline

  • Chartered status preferred;

  • 15 years managing major projects or programmes;

  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as the APM, PMI or an engineering institution;

  • Ability to obtain a minimum level of SC clearance UK;

  • UK Driving License and Right to Work in the UK.

  • You must be a UK National and able/willing to obtain SC level security clearance, which includes resident in the UK for the preceding 5 years
