Job Description Summary
The Repair Technology team is responsible for the creation of methods, processes and tools that are utilized for unplanned maintenance such as Major Component Exchanges and Uptower Repairs to Service Onshore Wind Turbines. The Systems Engineer will focus on design for serviceability for New Units NPI & Cost-Out in the Land Constrained Engineering Segment (Cypress Platform). They will interact directly with the LC Engineering Segment and the Services Segment. They will have responsibility for system level trades and decisions, contribution to and approval of requirements (through DMs), and direct contributions to projects as a system engineer.

Roles and Responsibilities
Assess serviceability impacts and quantify the incremental risks & costs for Unplanned Maintenance & Repairs
Identify potential mitigations and design changes required to minimize the services risks & costs
Provide wind turbine system expertise through all phases of product development, from requirements definition through design and development, validation and product life-cycle support
Identify, track and integrate relevant Repair/Tooling DM2s. Incorporate into Services DM1 & New Units LC NPI activities
Directly interface with Services Systems Integration Leader
Identify needed Repair programs based off Services PL Repair capability requirements
Identify potential Repair programs based off LC NPI activities and platform evolution
Identify major risks pertaining to the above-mentioned programs & capabilities, work cross functionally with Services Systems Integration Leader, Repair Technology team & Services PL to develop mitigation plan and ensure mitigation plan is carried out
Lead Repair Technology design reviews for new units covering the above-mentioned capabilities & material handling. Responsible for Repair Technology deliverables in the NPI TG process
Source of technical support & own inputs to the cost model and Serviceability business cases: time to Repair (working with reliability), Repair capabilities, Repair cost per event scale factor considering Repair complexity, wind speed limits, crane sizes, etc.
Escalate potential EHS issues as needed to Services EHS & Engineering Safety Team
Maintain broad awareness of efforts within Repair Technology team to assure lessons learned and responsiveness to customer/program needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years of wind experience (Engineering, Fleet Performance, Product Service, Field Service or equivalent)
Desired Characteristics
Fluent in English and Portuguese
Familiarity with the Cypress Platform architecture
Understanding of Services field operations and unplanned maintenance activities such as Fixed Rotor Gearbox Exchange
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of organizations and individuals in global locations.
Ability and willingness to challenge status quo, without allegiance to past or current practices and technology, to get to the best GE products.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Ability to intact with both senior management and hourly technicians.
Familiarity with basic industrial tooling

Wind Turbine Product/Services knowledge.
Hands on service/repair experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with CAD design and analysis

Proven record of being team oriented and results driven.
Ability and willingness to climb wind turbines and work at heights.
Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 10% of the time when required.
The salary range for this position is $111,200 - $185,400 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. This posting is expected to close on November 1st or thereafter.
