Workday Technology – Integrations and Reporting - Consulting Associate – Production Support

Position Summary

The consultant will drive technical effort across managed services, production support cases and other client delivery work. They will be the technical point of contact post deployment clients across higher education, non-profit and healthcare industries and will build long term partnerships with clients by supporting their optimization journey via day-to-day support and proposing thoughtful technical solutions to fit the specific needs of the client. The consultant will complete discovery and requirements gathering, manage clients’ technical cases (assignment, progress, etc.), drive ongoing technical effort, and act as a liaison between client and offshore and SME resources. They will troubleshoot and resolve cases in their area(s) of expertise within Workday integration and reporting. The consultant will also work on Workday managed services support, optimization projects and other client delivery work including implementation projects.

This role will report to the Lead of the Workday Managed Services and Production Support. This role is supporting growing service offerings and will have exposure to sales, internal project management and staffing. Skillset development will be prioritized including maintaining and adding relevant Workday certifications. Travel is not anticipated for this role

Responsibilities

• Drive work forward and act as a liaison between the client and technical resources

• Project manage technical effort and support key communication to internal and client leadership

• Identify, assess, and solve complex business problems for integrating the Workday cloud application with external applications across a wide array of Human Capital Management, Financial, and Academic functional areas, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

• Translate customer requirements into Workday solutions

• Understand and communicate touch points with the different Workday modules like HCM, Academics, Payroll, Benefits, Financials, Supply Chain, and Student.

• Build custom reports, dashboards, discovery boards, and embedded analytics using Workday’s reporting toolset

• Design, build, and support testing of Workday integration code base including Studio, EIB and supporting 3rd party coding

• Accountable for assigned integrations and/or project activities assigned by technical lead

• Responsible for timely identification and escalation of risks and development of alternative technical and functional approaches when necessary

• Support the identification of process improvements and changes to our methodology based on project experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical, math, engineering, computer science, business or financial discipline or relevant field of study or equivalent work experience

• Excellent communication skills, oral and written, and the interpersonal skills needed quickly to establish relationships of trust and collaboration

• Strong analytical skills used to translate information and requirements into documentation and solution design

• Substantial and measurable delivery within the technical and reporting workstreams during implementations or production support

• Familiarity with databases, reporting tools, and data analysis

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Current Workday Reporting, Advanced Reporting, Integration and/or Studio certification

• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing Workday Integrations, using at least 2 of the following technologies: Web Services (REST and/or SOAP), XML, XSLT, Workday Studio, EIB, Workday Cloud Connect

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a Workday reporting role using the various different tools from simple to complex reports and experience with enterprise reporting tools.

• Experience with reporting tools like Prism, BIRT, dashboards, discovery boards, embedded analytics, and future report specific functionality

• Strong knowledge and experience with the Workday security model

• Ability to train and participate in the professional development of Huron staff in both project-management and technical dimensions

• Excellent time-management and prioritization skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience with tools such as Excel and Access used to translate information and requirements into documentation and solution design

• Desire and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, concepts, and methodologies

• Experience with software tools such as Notepad++, UltraEdit, Oxygen XML, AQT, Beyond Compare, ASAP Utilities, etc.
