JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Windows System Administrator IILocation: India

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the monitoring and support of server infrastructure and business applications. System Admin must ensure high availability of all critical systems and infrastructure by use of monitoring and support tools and best practices.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • The documentation, analysis, implementation, testing or modification of Server infrastructure.

  • Server installation, maintenance, documentation and support.

  • Application installation, maintenance, documentation and support.

  • Server infrastructure performance monitoring and analysis.

  • Server and Application security maintenance and review.

  • Research and Development for key IT infrastructure and strategies.

  • Ensure redundancy and stability for all critical systems.

  • Ensure data protection and recoverability for all supported systems.

  • Escalate/communicate issues and concerns as necessary.

  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support for system availability and client support.

  • Must work independently and in a group to manage full scope of responsibilities with minimal supervision.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • The documentation, analysis & monitoring of Server infrastructure.

  • Proficient in Server installation, Application installation, maintenance, documentation and support.

  • Proficient in Administration of Citrix Virtual Desktop, Published Desktops and Published Applications. Understanding of Citrix profile management and group policies.

  • Proficient in Windows RDS.

  • Proficient in Server infrastructure, performance monitoring and analysis.

  • Knowledge of Server and Application security maintenance and review.

  • Escalate/communicate issues and concerns as necessary.

  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support for system availability and client support.

  • Define and document best practices and support procedures.

  • Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.

  • Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.

  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use. Create required reports in response to business user needs.

  • Diagnoses and resolves complex software, server, and networking issues.

  • Supports, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains server issues and security for enterprise and large-scale applications.

  • Knowledge of Active directory, Citrix and VMware.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in a professional manner, face to face, on the telephone and in writing.

  • Ability to create scripts in Batch, PowerShell, and similar languages.

  • Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.

  • Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms.

  • Past experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.

  • Willing to work flexibly and with enthusiasm.

  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Good understanding of different Operating Systems.

  • Basic understanding about computer network.

  • Good troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent understanding of Infrastructure monitoring.

  • Microsoft MCSA certification or similar

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator

  • Proficient in Server operating systems.
