The Global Controls Assurance (GCA) Team comes under the Controls, Assurance & Risk Excellence (CARE) function of Diageo. Within this wider function are the Global Audit, Global Risk, and Global Controls teams.

We own and manage the Control Framework and methodology for Diageo, while the ownership of controls remains with control owners and business units
We support in identifying, testing, and mitigating Financial, Compliance and business risks

The Global Controls Assurance Specialist role is a part of the Global Controls Assurance team reporting to the Global Controls Assurance Manager.
Purpose of role
Performcontrol testing of the given area by following the global Control Assurance and Risk Management processes and through coordination with GCA stakeholders.
Support the reporting manager in delivering a best-in-class control environment, increase control and compliance awareness, and coordinate/ensure smooth delivery of internal control procedures
Support in various projects of GCA Controls Transformation & Governance and GCA Business Advisory and Change verticals on a need basis.
Provide management support during internal (GAR) and external audit (PWC).
Job Description
Perform mapping, homogeneity assessment,design assessment, and effectiveness testing of controls of the given area in a manner that reflects the highest professional standards.
Responsible for timely and effective communication of the key messages/outcomes/issues to the reporting managerand immediate stakeholders.
Work efficientlyin close coordination with the reporting manager to meet deadlines in line with CARM guidance.
Track, monitor, and validate completion of audit observations and control deficiency remediation.
Assist and participate in control optimization, process improvements, new initiatives, and strategic projects.
Skills
Experience of working in the Global SOX Team / Global Audit Team
Good understanding of the Audit lifecycle from planning to reporting and closure of recommendations
Prior experience with BIG 4 will be an added advantage.
Working experience of major ERPs(SAP, S4 Hana preferred)
Proficient in MS Applications (MS Word, MS Excel, PPT, VISIO)
Exposure to some of the following areas:1. Process improvement2.Project Management3. risk assessment4. IFRS,5/ SAP

Good knowledge of SAP
Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to present on a need basis.
Capability to act as a change agent.
Qualification - Commerce graduate/Semi qualified/CA / MBA / ACCA/ CPA / Other equivalent degree in accounting/knowledge of automation/BOT implementation (Tier2/Tier3 institute)
Experience - 2-5 Years
Area of Expertise
Audit (Statutory / Internal), and/or SOX experience, Risk Assessment, ICFR, shared services process understanding, knowledge of automation/BOT implementation.
Improvement mindset
Good knowledge of SAP
