Cisco Senior Testing Lead Engineer, Python, DAS Storage, from 9+ years experience in Bangalore, India

Who are we:

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Cisco's Unified Computing Systems (UCS) team working in Cisco's Data Center space. The Cisco UCS Rack Server is a compact, high-density server optimized for performance and efficiency, making it suitable for various applications such as virtualization and bare-metal workloads. This server can function as a standalone unit managed by Cisco Intersight or UCS Manager, to demonstrate the full range of Cisco's unified computing benefits and improve business agility.

Who You'll Work With:

This is a global organization that includes Development, SQA, TME, Product Management, and Program Management teams. We focus on delivering innovative solutions for configuring both rack and blade servers, from firmware updates to I/O connectivity, to support sophisticated data centers and IT as a Service (ITaaS). Their product portfolio includes Unified Computing Servers (both Blade and Rack models) and UCS Management software for simplified access and control. CSPG is driving the vision, strategy, and products for next-generation datacenter server access and virtualization. The team consists of experienced engineers and motivated junior engineers, offering opportunities for growth in the growing virtualization market. The SQA team is fast-paced and responsible for delivering tools and utilities for managing and maintaining Unified Computing Systems.

What You'll Do:

  • In this role, you will work with the latest technologies and trends in Server and Storage as part of the UCS validation team. You will lead a team of engineers in both manual and automated testing of Cisco C-Series Rack Server Storage.

  • You will work closely with product managers and engineering leads to define product strategy and identify efficient solutions. The role emphasizes open communication, empowerment, innovation, partnership, and customer success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading test executions and ensuring strong hands-on experience in DAS validation, SCSI, and SAS protocols.

  • We Prepare test plans and test cases based on requirements.

  • We Craft test fixtures and tools, performing tests, filing defects, and reporting results.

  • We use product performance data to inform development teams and reviewing customer-found defects.

  • We craft and validate the customer use cases, debugging issues, and performing first-level issue triage.

  • We study industry specifications and vendor documentation to craft test cases.

  • We do set up and managing iSCSI, FC, FCoE, PXE, and GPU test configurations.

  • We automate manual test cases and performing automated tests during regression cycles.

  • Reviewing PRD, SFS, test plans, user guides, and release notes.

  • Contributing to overall test strategies and participating in innovative software test initiatives.

Who You Are:

In this role, As Senior Test Engineer you will lead test executions and ensure hands-on experience in DAS validation, SCSI, and SAS protocols. Key responsibilities include:

  • We are looking for Proven track record in automation using Python.

  • Experience in end-to-end product development with multi-functional and geographical teams.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills for working with various team members in sophisticated environments.

  • Experience with solutions like CEPH, VSAN, and Windows Storage Spaces.

  • Good working experience with PCI-E adapters, HDDs, SSDs, and Flash drives.

  • Strong understanding of Intel/AMD server platforms.

  • We require experience with VMware, Linux, and Windows OS.

  • Good understanding of networking concepts.

  • We require experience with firmware and driver validation of server hardware (both online and offline).

  • Project experience in systems management or network management is an added advantage.
