IBM Software Developer - z/OS in Bangalore, India
Introduction
IBM is seeking highly motivated individuals with prior mainframe experience to join our CIO BPT Delivery team. As a Software Developer, you will be part of a team supporting an IBM Financially Significant Application. You will work in an agile, collaborative environment with primary focus on development and production support. This role will requires working in Australian Time (starting morning 5:00am IST).
Your role and responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities include :
Provide production support when financial application batch runs and be able to resolve the production issues.
Collaborating with interface applications, team members and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
Involved in the Business Requirements gathering wherein the client’s business process is studied in detail. Active participation in discovery and design sessions.
Business Requirements is understood and analyzed by having frequent interaction with various user levels to understand their requirements.
Involve in mapping of clients business requirements to the applications to come out with a clear cut picture of out of box functionalities, workarounds and customizations.
Create Unit test case
Create application programs and jobs
Unit test and document the results
Handling Technical issues, Involve in Code reviews, mentoring the team members
Involve in deployment build on UAT and Production Environment, maintain to versioning of code and Involve in verification and validation activity for the deliverable
Involve in support and adhoc request, provide end-to end solution for all kind of support and maintenance issues
Required technical and professional expertise
Minimum 6+ years of hands on experience in applications development using Mainframe skills, ZOS DB2, PL1 programming, REXX and JCL
Experience in tools like OPC, SDSF, SPUFI, QMF and File Manager.
Knowledge of any configuration management tool like Github, SNow etc…
Ability to independently analyse requirements based on a given specification and come up with a sound and balanced algorithmic design.
Working knowledge in Mainframe Application Development
Working knowledge in Mainframe Production support.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Financial domain knowledge.
Independent contributor, an ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals.
Ability to manage change and be open to it good time management and an ability to work under stress
Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
