Overview

Project Operations Systems Engineering is responsible for deploying and maintaining our service to enable Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. The role is instrumental in delivering a world-class service at scale, to ensure a high-quality experience for hundreds of thousands of Project Operations customers.   

As a Senior Software/DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with several functional teams and lead the release, deployment, automation, and integration of one of the fastest growing services in BAP. You will also engage with other engineers to evolve and improve our developer tooling to increase engineering efficiency. Additionally, you will be responsible for the security, privacy, and compliance aspects of the service, where you will be interfacing with leaders in other organizations to guarantee continual delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering and product managers to consistently deliver the service globally on a monthly cadence, including in GCC(Government Community Cloud), GCC-(Government Community Cloud) High, and Mooncake. 

  • Create and execute a strategy to build and manage a fully automated CI/CD pipeline. This will require collaboration with both internal and external teams and will require building and consuming new APIs (Application Programming Interface). 

  • Provide technical guidance to SLT (Senior Leadership Team) on how to evolve the development toolset and experience to improve developer efficiency. This will require the creation of new tools and scripts to supercharge functional engineering teams. In doing so, you will be constantly measuring and improving a key metric – PRRT (Pull Request Resolution Time). 

  • Improve telemetry, build new dashboards, and monitors to proactively detect issues in livesite. 

  • Build PowerBI reports to help the product group identify trends and patterns for livesite issues. 

  • Create and maintain documentation and run regular brown-bags to disseminate knowledge of various facets of devops across the product group. 

  • Be responsible for security, privacy, and compliance reviews, including being responsible for driving S360 compliance.  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

             OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or a similar role. 

  • 2+ years of experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. 

  • 2+ years of work experience with enterprise software, including an understanding of change management, privacy, security, compliance, GDPR and serviceability.

*Preferred Qualifications: *

  • Experience with Service Fabric deployment infrastructure. 

  • Building moderately complex reports with PowerBI and working knowledge of Power Query. 

  • A working understanding of Kubernetes/DevContainer. 

  • Power BI experience.  

  • Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement or other customer relationship management (CRM) software experience. 

  • Knowledge of microservices principles.
