Role Title: Diageo Customer Salesforce Technical Architect

Context:

Role Description:

The Architect will report into the Head of Salesforce Practice and Customer Support and will be focused on engaging project teams, other Solutions Architects and Enterprise Architects in designing and owning Salesforce based solutions within the wider solution portfolio in support of Diageo’s business and technical initiatives.

Top Accountabilities

The Architect will be responsible for:

  • Create High-Level Salesforce designs for ongoing projects in line with the Technology Design and Security Standards, set forth by various Diageo teams, as part of the overall Customer solution.

  • Contribute to continuous update and improvement of Salesforce design standards.

  • Contribute to overall org strategy

  • Contribute to sandbox strategies based on wider enterprise evolving demands

  • Engage with other teams, e.g. Enterprise, Analytics, Security, as part of ensuring your solution designs are in accordance with the Diageo reference architecture

  • Work with and guide service provider teams in implementing the defined Salesforce solution architecture

  • Provide design governance for any Salesforce solution (excluding Marketing Cloud, Marketing Cloud Intelligence, Marketing Cloud Engagement and Mulesoft)

  • Drive necessary troubleshooting and guiding the Salesforce support team when significant production issues are encountered

  • Act as point of contact to ensure all parties (including internal and external technical / development teams) understand your solution design

  • Engage with business representatives and Salesforce Product Owners (known as Sub-Stream Owners) to provide thought leadership to correctly shape business ideas with the aim to best leverage the capabilities of Salesforce to support business requirements.

  • Continual expansion of your architectural and Salesforce knowledge, constantly seeking ways to broaden exposure to the latest and greatest trends and developments in the Customer behaviour and technology space

  • Incorporate the latest trends and innovations into recommendations to help shape the vision and technology roadmap for the Customer domain in partnership with the Head of the Salesforce work.

  • Identify risks affecting solutions, including mitigating recommendations and support in handling those risks

  • Identify and maintain technical debt

Education, Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT or Computer Science

  • Architecture and Technical Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience in Salesforce architecting and design

  • Demonstrated broad working knowledge of relevant capabilities, including, but not limited to: Sales, Marketing, Service, eCommerce, SFDC, integration, etc.

  • Demonstrated architecture experience with web or portal based solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience championing, designing, and implementing innovative solutions to problems while keeping to OOB as much as possible.

  • Knowledge and experience with architecting, designing and implementing large scale data solutions, including awareness of resilience challenges on integration.

  • Understanding challenges with data restore (from backup) both within Salesforce and impacts across the Enterprise

  • Experience with solution design (application, information, integration and infrastructure)

  • Previous hands-on experience of the Salesforce development system will be an asset

  • Understanding of both batched and streaming integration

  • Comfortable with solution topics covering security, volume, performance, resilience

  • Understanding of Micro-Services environments useful

  • Awareness of TOGAF and ITIL is desirable

  • Functional Expertise:

  • Experience of CRM digital channels, customer engagement within a large, global organization (preferably FMCG), including key business processes related to these areas

  • Have full-cycle experience in implementing IT solutions in agile mode

  • Experience of Agile (or agile / waterfall hybrid) development practices and techniques
