BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

Industrial Engineering India - BCS

ROLE OBJECTIVE

Product line owner and responsible to perform Value Engineering and product life cycle activities. Act as evaluator for ECR & drawing review & approval process. Perform design tasks – 3D modelling, EBOM creation for projects, drawing creation/modification and processing ECR/ECN as per the requirement within defined timeline & as per TE drafting & design standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and drive VAVE or cost saving projects

  • GPL ownership – Provide engineering support to Product managers /manufacturing /Quality

  • Understand engineering requirements for new product requirements or extension or variants (RFQ) and create new drawings & 3D modeling in Creo and get product cost form plant or suppliers

  • Updating and releasing the drawings to Dmtec with the design changes mentioned in the ECR/ECO. Creation of ECR/ECO in PLM when required

  • Review Dimension / test reports and provide engineering approvals to tools/ products

  • Collaborate with global manufacturing teams and perform DFM to arrive at smart tolerance values and scheme

  • Evaluate ECR and drawings from the team before final approval

  • EBOM creation for projects & legacy parts in Creo/ Pdmlink

  • Create 3D models with annotations required for 3D tolerance analysis software (3D annotations) and support analysis in 3DCS. Support model preparation for simulation when required

  • Should be able to understand and interpret simulation (FEA) results and convert them to design improvements

  • Should be able to use measuring / test equipment and perform measurement / test on actual proto samples and correlate the simulation results

  • Should be able to take up medium or complex new product development when required.

Candidate Desired Profile:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

  • B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering

  • Six sigma Green belt certification will be added advantage

  • Experience in connectors & terminals is preferred.

  • CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 4 – 8 years of experience in VAVE and product engineering

  • Ability to generate 3D models, 2D drawings with tolerancing.

  • Proficient with standards of modelling, drafting and Engineering change procedures

  • Proficient working knowledge on Creo & Pdmlink

  • Knowledge on Industry standards IEC/DIN/EIA and agency approvals UL/CSA/VDE

  • Ability to run FEA simulation (Structural) in Creo COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately across multi-cultural groups;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Capable of performing mechanical testing on prototypes and use of measuring equipment’s

  • Ability to assure quality for services

  • Strong Conceptual, problem solving and Analytical Skills

  • Capable of Handling Multiple Projects simultaneously

  • Ability to create and sustain best practices

  • Exposure to design for manufacturing (DFM)

  • Knowledge about various phases of product realization and product development

  • Proficient in applying Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T) & tolerance Stack calculation

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes mainly Molding, Stamping and Plating

  • Should be Self-Motivated, Adaptive, Passionate about results and a Good Team Player.
