We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer specializing in Network Security to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network security infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that protect our organization from cyber threats and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our network assets.

This position requires an excellent understanding of modern security architectures and controls in Networking both on-prem, in the public cloud. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with security technologies such as firewalls & other network devices.

The person has the ability to multitask, work independently and work collaboratively with teams, some of which may be geographically distributed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of robust network security architectures to safeguard our organization's critical assets.

• Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential security risks.

• Audit & review of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SDWan, SASE, firewalls, VPNs, and other network technologies to protect our perimeter.

• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate security controls into network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, and firewalls..

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and security analysts.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in network security technologies and emerging cyber threats.

• Act as a SME on network security matters and represent the organization in meetings with clients, partners, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

• At least 8-10 years of experience in network security engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing complex security solutions in large-scale environments.

• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including encryption, authentication, access control.

• Hands-on experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs & other network devices.

• Knowledge of scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security-related tasks.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, or GIAC certifications (e.g., GSEC, GCIA, GCED) are highly desirable.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
