We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Data Engineer!

The data scientist will play a vital role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring that we build data products that meets VAULTIS principles in making data visible, accessible, understanding, linked, trusted, interoperable, and secure.

The individual in this role will have a strong analytical and data modeling skills, a deep understanding of database technology and data use within analytic platforms, and they must have strong programming skills with SQL and Python. We expect our Manager, Data Engineer, to have demonstrated fluency and competency in both the technology language of IT and the analyst language of departmental analysts. They will need to be fast learners with a keen eye for detail, systems thinking, and process design.

The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, technically savvy, and passionate about helping to deliver insights with data and driving operational decision-making across the enterprise.

It is an excellent opportunity to directly contribute to the successes of P&W and ensure our future competitive edge through successful execution of key tasks associated with the expansion of the P&W India Digital Capability Center (IDCC), Data & Analytics talent development, and task execution oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources.

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes to ensure efficient data extraction and loading.

  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency.

  • Develop ETL pipelines for general business consumption, establishing patterns for repeatable, scalable ETL work that others can leverage in their work.

  • Implement data governance and master data management principles across specific project execution.

  • Lead from front to help establish Data Engineering function by hiring best-in-class resources, creating strategic roadmap, and owning KPIs & reporting.

  • Collaborate with global business teams to understand the problems and design scalable solutions.

  • Identify and understand the necessary data sources for projects and efficient ways to clean and transform it.

  • Work with Global Technology to ensure that solutions are up to current standards and best practices.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and build new skills in data engineering, technologies and platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.E in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with 8+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR Advanced Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with and 5+ years prior relevant engineering experience.

  • 6+ years as a Data Engineer, with a strong track record of designing and implementing data solutions.

  • Hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies (e.g., Databricks, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse) and ETL tools (e.g. Fivetran, SSIS, AWS Glue, Qlik Replicate).

  • Strong database knowledge, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.

  • Experience developing people, including individual goal setting, performance management, and talent development.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in fostering collaboration and driving alignment across diverse teams.

  • Self-starter with high level of intellectual curiosity.

  • Strong analytical and hardworking problem-solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense Processes from Design to Manufacturing to After Sales & Support

  • Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components.

  • Experience standing up new teams and building a positive professional culture.

  • Knowledge and experience in Data Governance, Architecture and Platforms

  • Strong learner who is comfortable learning new libraries and frameworks

  • Experience working in an agile environment.

Role Type: Hybrid - Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.
