LEAD ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS ANALYST

Job Overview

Conducts analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing and implementation of enterprise wide systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Baan, PeopleSoft) across functional areas. Conducts analysis of systems specifications and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes. Develops conversion and system implementation plans. Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Coordinates system upgrade activity. Trains user personnel in the conversion and implementation of the system.

Responsibilities:

1) Determine Business Requirements

• Meet with users, management, and other Core Team Analysts to define business requirements in sufficient detail to determine the appropriate SAP configuration or development (ABAP/SAP Script/Smart forms) required, or to document why the requirement cannot be satisfied by an SAP-based solution.

• Document the requirements in a functional requirements document. Include input and output requirements, process maps and business benefits as appropriate.

• Coordinate the activity of other SAP analysts to ensure complete requirements are defined.

• Perform Fit/gap analysis and influence users to change business processes to fit existing system functionality.

2) Design SAP-based Business Systems

• Independently evaluate alternative solutions to business requirements and document a recommended design.

• Provide an estimate of the cost and risk of an SAP solution.

• Recommend ABAP or other programming enhancements when no SAP solution is possible.

3) Configure the SAP System

• Translate business requirements into SAP configuration with help from other team members and consultants.

• Configure SAP price procedures, condition types, pricing requirements and formulas.

• Document the SAP configuration required if complex or unique.

• Enter, test, and migrate the required SAP configuration to production.

• Obtain resolution to standard SAP problems when required via the OSS facility.

4) Technical Skills

• Translate functional requirements into high level Technical design document with process flows, algorithms, and pseudo-codes.

• Have a clear understanding of pricing communication structures and user exits needed to provide high level technical design document.

• Provide oversight to ABAP developers to ensure requirements are understood and that a well-designed, efficient, and supportable solution is developed.

• Provide and use unit test scenarios and test data

• Be well versed in SPDD, SPAU and Code Remediation activities to provide functional inputs to the ABAP team in a timely manner to aid System upgrade tasks.

• Ability to read and comprehend ABAP code, terminologies with debugging skills is non-negotiable.

• Be proactive in logging system upgrade/code remediation/testing issues and drive the resolution with help of ABAP team. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks is highly appreciated.

5) Test the SAP System, Enhancements and Add-ons

• Provide integrated test scenarios across all related processes reflecting the business requirements

• Test the system, documenting the results

• Prepare test plans, scripts and execute them for System upgrade activities.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Functional

• Understand IT related processes in global environments and can hold process related discussions with different business and technical SME’s

• Minimum 5 -7 years’ experience in SAP ECC AND/OR S/4 Sales and Distribution – Pricing
