Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for product hardware design and validation for Position xMR sensors targeting global market

  • Work with Product Manager and other design team members for hardware design specification development.

  • Product performance optimization, and technical troubleshooting.

  • Support project execution through participation in design review meetings and core team meetings.

  • When needed, design the complete electronic assembly (schematics, layout, Sense Element/ASIC selections and configuration, thermal calculations, Design for Manufacturability and Test including ICT test & Calibration specifications, DFMEA) and support production implementation providing critical inputs to Software Development, PFMEA and Control Plan.

  • Keep track of component, PCB assembly and product manufacturing (including sub-contractors, supplier) and conduct deep-dive technical reviews when needed.

  • Develop test plans and manage technical details for rigorous execution of product validation at all levels from execution of screening DOEs on technology concept prototypes through to capability analysis of production validation and PPAP runs.

  • Apply DFSS tools during design process, especially pugh concept selection, QFD, DFMEA, Design for Manufacturability and reliability, DOE etc., and support production implementation providing critical inputs to Flow Chat, Work Instruction, PFMEA and Control Plan.

  • Perform EMC, Hazloc and functional safety-oriented technical analysis.

  • Perform benchmarking of competitor products and conduct technology and IP searches related to all aspects of electrical design of Position sensors.

  • Conduct market analysis of IC/ASIC products, work with technology providers and conduct IC/ASIC characterization to identify best in class solutions.

  • Support, maintain and document hardware design.

  • In accordance with TE standards for daily work.

What your background should look like:

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Integrated Circuit Design, Physics)

  • 5+ years of technical experience including full lifecycle developments, mixed signal of Digital & Analog circuit design and PCB layout, calibration configuration, functional verification.

  • Can use Altium Designer for hardware design

  • Experience in series protocol measurement & testing (USB, RS485, I2C, SPI, SENT, LIN…etc. )

  • Fluent with all test instruments build on production lines and EE labs

  • Excellent data analysis, failure analysis, root cause identification & defining corrective actions

  • In-depth knowledge and expertise with EMC and Hazloc product Standards, IECEx, ATEX, NEC, CCC. FIT analysis and ASIC architectures (hardware) to meet application requirements.

  • Comprehensive technical understanding of Position sensors various core sensing technologies (i.e. AMR, GMR, TMR, Hall Effect, Eddy Current etc.), signal conditioning ASICs, calibration and compensation methods, reliability testing methods

  • Exceptional fluency in English

  • Willingness to travel as required, 10%
