Summary

In close co-operation with the Product Engineering, NPI Engineering, Marketing and Production teams, you will oversee detailed testing and characterization of newly developed products as well as of existing RFID credentials, with the goal to improve costs, performance and especially customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Define testing and full characterization specifications to ensure internal and external customers’ full satisfaction and product competitiveness.

  • Introduce and put in use new measurement equipment in all frequency ranges (LF, HF, UHF, Wi-Fi, UWB).

  • Compose detailed and structured test / characterization reports in English.

  • Support customers and partners for product integration in systems.

  • Train other Business Segments in HID Global as well as Product Development Engineers in testing.

  • Evaluate and constantly benchmark test procedures and drive continuous improvement.

  • Upgrade and improve test equipment usage to improve test systems performance and reliability parameters.

  • Support the QA department in investigating product failures.

    Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware & software and operational & performance requirements of the overall system.

    Other Responsibilities :

  • Ensure all activities are performed in a manner that does not create unnecessary environment impacts.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance to environment operational controls and compliance with applicable legal and other requirement.

  • Communicate clear roles and responsibility for environmental control

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Technical degree in electronics, microelectronics or related discipline.

  • 3 -5 (10+ in case of Senior) years of experience, experience in testing is a plus.

  • Thorough grounding in the physical principles of magnetic phenomena and in the physical principles of RFID systems.

  • Knowledge of electronic assembly and packaging methods would be an advantage.

  • Availability to travel up to 15% of time – visiting major RFID test equipment and service suppliers and HID Global locations (CH – Granges and other IDT sites).

  • Flexibility, autonomy, and ability to prioritize, plan and organize.

  • Experience in project management, skills in communication as well as excellent report writing skills.

  • Comfortable in working in an international environment.

  • Strong problem-solving mind-set, high self-motivation with close attention to details.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office, Oracle, Jira and LabVIEW.

  • Exposure to SAFe/Agile and Test Rail, as well as Miro Whiteboard platform.

    Language Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English verbally and in writing. Additional languages knowledge would be a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

    Computer Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Working knowledge on CST or equivalent is a plus.

  • Working knowledge on LabView is a plus.
