Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and manage a highly skilled group of Mechanical Engineers and CAD draftsmen. A qualified technical lead candidate will be involved in:

• Providing technical leadership to the ME team through the following:

• Reviewing 3D packaging of complex power converters, energy storage, and PLC systems

• Building of complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLC systems

• Thermal design of high-performance coldplates, heat exchangers, and systems

• Structural analysis of package components, support structures, and shelving under harsh environment shock and vibration

• Creation, review, and issuance of prototype and production level drawings in accordance with GD&T standards

• Leadership and/or managerial experience with a focus on the following:

• Leading a team of 4-8 engineers and draftsman through research and product development phases

• Providing technical leadership while also pushing the team to meet customer requirements, schedules, and budgets

• Autonomy to hire new team members and write proposals/bring in new work

• Writing and/or reviewing ME-focused patents, whitepapers, and technical conference/journal publications of junior and other senior engineers

• Collaborating with other technical leads and the SVP Engineering to determine the technical and strategic direction of the power system group

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Baltimore, Maryland and some days remote.

Work Environment

Our client is located in an Office Space / R&D/ Manufacturing, Lab space right outside of Baltimore City. They have about 30 employees in their "Power Systems" group including Engineering, Design, Management, Administrative, Contracts, etc., but the company itself has about 50-60 people.
