The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Division of Rheumatology, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified rheumatologist to attend to patient care, research and education in the Division's Vasculitis Center. The most competitive applicants will include those who have held an assistant, associate or full professor faculty appointment at an academic institution and have a proven history of successful clinical and research endeavors. The applicant will have the opportunity to take a leading role in shaping the mission of the Vasculitis Center.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Basic Function

Work in collaboration with the Directors of Clinical and Research Operations, and other Divisional and Departmental leadership to advance the clinical, research, and education missions of the Vasculitis Center, which include: the sustained delivery of high-quality patient care in a collaborative approach that reflects the multi-organ nature of these diseases; development of robust research programs in this arena, including epidemiologic, translational and mechanistic studies, and clinical trials; and delivery of medical education to post-doctoral fellows, residents, interns, and medical students.

Essential Job Functions

  • Furnish complex medical care to adult patients in an outpatient setting at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center campus (general rheumatology or disease-specific centers)

  • Provide medical consultation in an inpatient setting at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (typically 4 weeks per year)

  • Teaching medical students, residents and postdoctoral fellows at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and in the School of Medicine

  • Seeking and actively engaging extramural research applications in support of the center's research mission

Qualifications

  • A Doctoral degree is required.

  • 1-3 years of related experience is required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
