Johns Hopkins University Research Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland
We are seeking a Research Assistant who will play a crucial role in the operational success of our lab and clinical studies. The individual will assist in managing a clinical study, conducting clinical study visits, shipping samples, and analyzing research data. This position requires a blend of organizational skills, analytical expertise, data wrangling, GIS/ArcGIS, R, and Python.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the management of research studies, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with institutional policies.
Coordinate and conduct clinical study visits, adhering to study protocols and ensuring participant safety and data integrity.
Analyze research data using statistical software, with a strong emphasis on R and GIS.
Experience with cleaning data and geocoding.
Experience working with publicly relevant datasets related to the social determinants of health (e.g., Social Vulnerability Index).
Collaborate with the research team to design studies, develop protocols, and contribute to scientific discussions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of research activities, study data, and inventory logs.
Communicate research findings through presentations, reports, and scientific publications.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, environmental health, occupational health, engineering, industrial hygiene, atmospheric sciences, chemistry, molecular biology, or related field.
Experience in laboratory and field-based exposure sciences.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
