As a CO+I Regional Mobilization Program Manager you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

As a Regional Mobilization Program Manager , you will be responsible for executing Hyperscale Network Infrastructure projects for Microsoft Azure in the Americas region (North, Central, and South America). You will collaborate with new-hired and tenured Datacenter Operations teams to build and maintain key datacenter network infrastructure, both remotely and onsite as you travel to the datacenters. You will manage end-to-end network projects with stakeholders and vendors, and establish strong relationships across a breadth of stakeholders and partners. By creating best practices and lessons learned during the duration of the projects, you will drive improvements to the people, processes, and tools involved in the deployment of Microsoft Azure’s Datacenter Network Infrastructure. You will foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and decision-making, as well as embody the One Microsoft culture and values.

The Greenfield Datacenter Mobilization Program (GDMP) supports the planning and execution of Hyperscale Network Infrastructure for Microsoft Azure in the Americas, both remotely and onsite within the datacenters. The program aims to improve the delivery of new datacenter capacity by applying feedback and lessons learned to the people, processes, and tools involved in the network infrastructure deployment. The program also helps regions with high growth to meet their network deployment staffing needs on a case-by-case basis. The main goals of the program are to deliver datacenter capacity faster and better by innovating and optimizing business processes and operational procedures, as well as to foster a culture of continuous learning, and use feedback from Greenfield Mobilization projects to guide decision-making and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a program to identify best practices, design process and procedure documents, and socialize those across the AMER Region (North, Central, and South America).

  • Create lessons learned documentation, best practices, and innovations on existing process/procedures and tools to improve efficiencies and productivity in Regional Network Buildout activities.

  • Utilize your knowledge to train, equip, and empower local teams to build and maintain a network which will support their campus through its entire lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with other Data Center Operations Regions and global teams to align Regional Network Buildout processes and procedures globally.

  • Create and manage end-to-end network project plans and ensure on time delivery.

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities.

  • Establish and enhance strong working relationships with customers in the network space.

  • Collaborate directly with site management and third-party vendors at new campuses and data centers to align best practices and deliver new locations quickly and reliably.

  • Plan, manage, and communicate end-to-end network project plans with stakeholders and teams.

  • Perform day-to-day project check-in and update to manage project delivery and quality.

  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution.

  • Work with various Engineering, Operations, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Data Center Build Managers, and Regional Technical Infrastructure Managers during project planning and execution

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years experience delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments OR 3+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)

  • Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Project or program management certifications (e.g. PMI, PMP, etc), ITIL ( Information Technology Infrastructure Library) , CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in project or program management and/or large-scale networks

  • Experience delivering large network or other IT hardware projects.

  • Awareness of IT Service Operations fundamentals and principles. (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.)

Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.
