General Summary: The core duties for this individual will be to: provide sexually transmitted infection/HIV/Hepatitis C/HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) education, triage for desired services, medication administration, and client support for follow up of test results and connection to prevention services to clients served at clinics. *Duties and Responsibilities: *

  • Details such as the type and dosage of medication administered, the route of administration, the date and time of administration, and any relevant patient instructions or reactions.
  • Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a sterile environment during medication administration to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Providing appropriate patient education and counseling regarding the administered medication, injection, or vaccine, including information about potential side effects, proper usage, and follow-up care.
  • Assist with registration tasks of patient triage and scheduling of clinic patients for in person and telemedicine visits.
  • Assist with patient communications regarding test result delivery, appointment/ follow-up reminders, questions about medications.
  • Conducts patient follow-up communications as directed by provider team and per clinic procedures.
  • Assist with supply inventory, monitor perishable refrigerator supplies, and provide reports to managers.
  • Provides Emergency Services to Baltimore City Health Department as needed.
  • Performed related tasks as assigned.

*Education: *

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Completion of one of the following medical assistant programs prior to hire and must be maintained throughout employment:
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) administered by American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) administered by National Healthcare Association (NHA)
  • Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) administered by National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • Rapid testing -Testing and Linkage to Care Testing completed within 90 days of hire.
