The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at theUniversity of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) is seeking applications for a board-eligible/board-certified physician to serve as a full-time OB Laborist faculty member in the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our talented faculty has a strong urban community-based clinical program within the context of an academic environment. Candidates with strong obstetric skills are encouraged to apply. Primary responsibilities would be focused on low-risk and advanced-risk obstetric labor unit management,actively engagingresidents and students in education and skills training .Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience. Successful candidates should be able to: · Demonstrate a strong interest in working within an academic environment committed to clinical care, research, and teaching. · Create a collaborative partnership with multi-disciplinary colleagues, reinforcing positive working relationships with the opportunity to care for patients with a variety of medical and social complexities. · Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, patient safety, and continuous practice improvement.
