Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Housing Specialist with a strong background in Section 8, voucher processing, and experience in leasing. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team in Baltimore, MD, where you will apply your skills and expertise in integrating low-income families and individuals into communities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage an assigned caseload of Section 8 participants.

• Determine eligibility for program participation and the appropriate amount of housing assistance.

• Perform annual and interim reexaminations of income, family composition, and other factors affecting eligibility and rent.

• Prepare and issue housing vouchers.

• Conduct housing quality inspections.

• Maintain accurate records, and prepare reports, and correspondence related to the work.

• Resolve issues with landlords and tenants regarding housing standards, leasing agreements, and rental payments.

• Participate in outreach programs and maintain a cooperative relationship with community organizations and housing providers

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in housing and community development, including experience in Section 8, processing vouchers, and leasing.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local housing policies, regulations, and practices.

• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.

• High degree of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field is a plus.
