Clean Harbors Facility Operations Manager in Baltimore, Maryland

Clean Harbors located in Baltimore, MD is looking for an Facility Operations Manager I to join their safety conscious team. The Facility Operations Manager will be responsible for establishing a new E- Waste disposal hub next door to our Baltimore facility. The preferred candidate will have experience in electronic waste dismantling and sorting operations. Having knowledge and understanding where value is in electronic waste dismantling and sorting operations. Having knowledge and understanding where value is in electronic derived waste is required. This includes familiarity with shipping and receiving, logistics, warehousing, inventory and various computer systems. This candidate will have a small team of technicians they will be providing oversight and guidance to, so management experience is preferred.

**This employee will need to be open to travel to Reidsville, NC for training and possible interaction with that established E-Waste disposal team once onboarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Emphasize productivity, health & safety, compliance and customer satisfaction;

  • Ensure that each project has an operating plan and that personnel follow it;

  • Onsite supervision, training and mentoring Supervisors and Technicians and will also provide input to General Manager regarding performance evaluations for individuals to whom this position has direct supervision over;

  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Degree in environmental studies preferred);

  • 3+ years’ experience in waste operations preferred;

  • 2+ years’ experience in a receiving/shipping area of a facility;

  • Supervisory or management experience in chemical operations preferred;

  • P&L/Budget experience;

  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations;

  • OSHA Training and experience.
