2:30pm - 11:00pm DAY 08

Inspects tests, calibrates, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs biomedical and electromechanical devices. This work is performed under general supervision and using the tools and techniques of biomedical technology.

Basic familiarity with electronic equipment, biomedical equipment operations, and hospital operating procedures as acquired through an orientation period of one to three months.

Knowledge of electronics, safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of test and safety equipment as defined by industry standards.

Basic knowledge of computer applications (PC- and network-based), including Windows, departmental e-mail, and custom Clinical Engineering Services database.

Applies biomedical technology, electrical and safety knowledge indicated herein.

Safely uses tools and equipment indicated herein.

Possesses the ability to solve problems and manage information indicated herein.

A demonstrated ability to test, troubleshoot and repair biomedical equipment and electromechanical devices.

Requires proficient written and verbal English communication skills, at least on a college level, to interact with departmental/JHM staff.

Identifies and avoids hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights and other warning devices.

Performs work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry or engineered standards.
