Loyola University Maryland Assistant Teaching Professor Theology in Baltimore, Maryland

Position Details:

THE DEPARTMENT OF THEOLOGY AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for a Teaching Faculty position to begin in August 2024. This is a one-year, non-tenure-track position with opportunity for renewal. The person hired for this position will be expected to teach four courses per semester, including the introductory course Theology Matters (a basic introduction to Christian theology and Scripture required of all students), as well as other courses related to the person’s area of specialization. Some service within the department and/or university is expected.

Required Qualifications: (1) an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Th.D.); (2) strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices; (3) the ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom, and to infuse issues of diversity, equity, and justice into course material as appropriate; (4) ability to contribute to the educational mission of Jesuit higher education.

Preferred Qualifications: (1) experience and demonstrated success in teaching undergraduate students.
