Our client, an equity-backed service provider, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their growing team. The successful candidate will learn a ton from a controller with many years of industry knowledge and work directly with the CFO and PE firm on special projects. Responsibilities:

• Handle technical accounting responsibilities and work closely with CFO, Controller, and PE firm

• Assist with the system conversion

• Collaborate on potential additional M& A activity with due diligence

• Assist with month-end close and reporting

• Unique to this opportunity are a chance to apply ASC 606 and to perform mark-to-market accounting

• Maintain and improve financial controls and systems within the department

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of financial statements

• Work on special projects as assigned by the CFO and Controller

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required

• Demonstrated proficiency in ASC 606 is preferred

• Previous experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm is preferred

• Strong knowledge in Financial Reporting is essential

• Experience with Month End Close process

• Proficiency in using NetSuite software preferred

• Strong knowledge and experience in Technical Accounting

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
