University of Maryland, Baltimore Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor (tenure track) in Baltimore, Maryland

The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently recruiting for a full-time tenure track/tenured Assistant/Associate/Full Professor who has a promising program of research that aligns with one of our organized research centers (ORCs): Biology and Behavior Across the Lifespan (BBAL) and Center for Health Equity and Outcomes Research (CHEOR) as well as a desire to mentor nursing PhD students. Specific areas of research priorities include 1) adolescent and maternal child health, 2) adult acute/critical care, 3) health disparities/health equity, 4) oncology, 5) aging/dementia, 6) pain including diagnosis and management. Experience working with large data sets, advanced analytical techniques, and/or mixed methods approaches are of particular interest. UMSON enrolls more than 2,000 students in its baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs. It is ranked 5th in funding for public nursing schools from the National Institutes of Health. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland, graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in the biosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. The unique composition of the campus enables health professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issues through multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. Its location in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C.-Annapolis triangle maximizes opportunities for collaboration with government agencies, health care institutions, and life science industries. Primary Responsibilities * Engage in a program of research, including securing external funding to support research * Advise and mentor PhD students * Teach in area of expertise * Participate in faculty governance * Earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field * Evidence of scholarly achievement, including research funding, data-based publications, and national/international professional presentations * Post-doctoral fellowship/research preferred * Prior academic experience preferred * Nurses preferred but others may apply * Current license to practice nursing, eligible for licensure in Maryland, if applicable /UMB is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
