MATTERN CONSTRUCTION Construction Laborer in Baltic, Connecticut

Non-Exempt Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly


**[Position Summary:

[The Construction Laborer will be responsible for working on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with all national and local procedures, regulations, and codes. The Construction Laborer will participate in all aspects of construction projects, from foundation to finish work and utilize available resources to perform duties efficiently. The Construction Laborer shall perform work safely by following all standards for performance, function as part of a collaborative effort, and work closely with other team members and construction industry professionals. Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications. With each project, the construction laborer will be counted on to uphold the standards of quality and innovation Mattern Construction Inc is known for.

  • Report to work on-time, without excessive absenteeism, ready to work, and conform to the required company policies and procedures to perform work being assigned.

``` - Complete projects and receive new-project instructions from construction manager or supervisor. - Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate potential hazards and ensure day-to-day safety and keep tools and equipment in good working condition. - Load and unload materials and identify and distribute them to appropriate locations. - Operate machinery according to project plans and specifications. - Prepare construction sites by digging, moving dirt, and compacting space. - Provide assistance to contractors (ex: craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed. - Document and report work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
