This position supports the work team in accomplishing the overall team’s mission and lead natural work teams in day to day operations. Responsibilities also include leading the team in the areas of productivity, operations, safety, quality, and team effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Productivity – Lead the team to ensure all extrusion and reclaim lines are running through shift change, changeovers are completed efficiently, and break schedules are adhered to. Ensure all processes, equipment and automation is utilized effectively, and maintain the flow of WIP in and out of roll storage.

• Operations – Coordinate team resources with other Team Leaders to ensure staffing of plant priority lines. Coordinate team resources per manning tables and skill mix. Coordinate with support operations to keep lines operating at all times.

• Safety –Coordinate safety activities for teams to include adherence to safe work practices and PPE guidelines, encouraging ZERO Incident process, and promoting good housekeeping. Coordinate accident reporting and investigation. Coordinate and guide team to meet monthly BBS observation requirements.

• Quality – Ensure quality checks are done in accordance to specifications. Ensure quality, SOS checklists shift reports and autonomous maintenance checks are completed. Ensure all operators during the shift conduct quality checks and HRXHR is complete, and checked throughout the shift. Ensure run rules are followed and include corrective action process when needed.

• Continuous Improvement – The team leader will communicate overall and team performance to the teams. Responsibilities also include leading the efforts of the work teams in continuous improvement.

• Team Effectiveness – Ensure proper communication throughout the team. Lead team in handling team and individual performance issues, conflicts, and policy issues. Communicate team issues to the shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and HR Manager on a timely basis.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

• Ability to deal with problems effectively

• Minimum C Extrusion Operator
