The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.

Role Description:

This position is based in Iraq on a 80/40 rotation schedule. Complete fixed wing aircraft (DHC-8) qualification training then travel to Iraq. Provide fixed wing operational support for the Department of State INL/A program in support of the US Embassy, Iraq.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepareorsupervisepreparationofflightplans,consideringsuchfactorsasaltitude,terrain,weather,range, weight, airport facilities and navigation aids.

  • Superviseoraccomplishtheaircraftpreflightinspectionandpreparation.

  • MPcrewmemberperformsoperationalchecks,routinemaintenance,andmaintenancetestflightstoensurethe airworthiness of the fleet.

  • Ensureproperloading,distribution, and securityofcargoand passengers.

  • Determineaircraftweightandbalanceiswithinprescribedlimits.

  • Retainfinalresponsibilityfortheloggingofaircraftflighttimeandthefilingandclosingofflightplansand preparation of flight and duty time records.

  • Conductthebriefingofallpassengerspriortoeachtake-offorassigndutytodirectreportsbutretains responsibility.

  • Delegatefunctionstootherdirectreportsbutretainsoverall responsibility.

  • OCONUSpositionthatrequiressometraveltoCONUSrequired.

  • PositionrequiresaU.S.Security Clearance.

  • Performsotheraviationdutiesas assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications :

  • Highschooldiplomaorequivalent.

  • FAACommercialandInstrumentAirman’sCertificateAirplane Multi-Engine Land/Instrument.

  • FCCRestrictedRadiotelephoneOperator Permit.

  • CurrentFAAClass IIMedical Certificate.

  • Successfulcompletionof FAATypeRatingintheselectedtyperequiredbefore assignment.

  • 1,500totalfixedwingflighthoursincluding 500hoursofturbinemulti-enginetime.

  • Minimum250hoursmulti-enginepilot-in-commandtime.

  • MPapplicantsrequire50hoursofFWmaintenancepilottimeorpriordesignationasamilitaryFunctionalCheck Pilot/ Maintenance Test Pilot time.

  • StrongEnglishspeakingandwrittencommunication skill.

  • Ability to pass physical screening.

  • Passport with 18 months remaining.

Preferred:

  • FAA ATP

  • FAA DHC-8 (any series)Typerating

  • FAACFI/CFII/MEI

  • Priormilitarypilotand/orpilotsupportontheDoSINL/Aprogram.

  • Currency in the applicableaircraftDHC-8 (any series)
