What impact you’ll make

We are looking for an impact-driven Capital Allocation Leader who will join the team to optimize the most significant capex investments across GE Vernova. The Capital Allocation Leader will be the steward of the capital expenditure (capex) budget to enable new product/technology introduction and well as investments in major projects and initiatives across the 12 Vernova businesses. They will work with the GE Vernova business leadership teams to cultivate effective partnerships and collaboration needed to ensure that value generation and business priorities around performance and transformational change are achieved. They will serve as a cross-functional leader prioritizing and solving-problems based on voice of the customer and business improvement goals around safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). This is a unique opportunity to help build and define how we work as we continue to transform our global operations.

The Capital Allocation Leader is responsible for applying lean and setting up standard processes and a capex framework for use across the GE Vernova businesses for high value (multi-million dollar) spend. The toolkit could include resources for allocation of spend aligned to business strategy and defined prioritization process, as well as standard tool implementation.

This leader will be a key member of the Global Supply Chain Development (GSCD) team. The GSCD team is focused on managing the cross-functional efforts required to continuously improve our supply chains to support business strategies and to ensure a cohesive long-range strategy, including capital allocation, to strengthen our competitiveness. The Capital Allocation Leader will also serve as a key resource and point of contact for business capex leaders as they develop capex allocation plans aligned to budget and strategy.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the maximization of large-scale and inter-business capital allocation across GE Vernova while ensuring alignment with business strategies, defined prioritization, and economies of scale (e.g., common assets, and sustainability investments).

  • Create and operationalize a standard work capex toolkit for use across the GE Vernova businesses for high value (multi-million dollar) spend.

  • Partner with GE Vernova business supply chain, procurement, finance, product-line, lean and engineering teams to use Lean methodologies to identify and improve procurement and utilization of machinery and equipment (M&E). Standard work for M&E should include a phased end-to-end process for managing M&E through planning, acquisition, operation & maintenance (O&M), and dispositioning, resulting in improved operational results (Safety, Quality, and Delivery) and financial savings (Cost).

  • Establish the capital investment structure and strategies to ensure procured M&E provides optimal total benefits considering install complexity, technology, proposed usage, and end of life value. Mitigate accounting risks by ensuring all equipment leases are booked according to ASC 842, and early buyout options (EBOs) are included in the SII/Op Plan (CAPEX).

  • Assess Asset Lifecycle management tools across GE Vernova and determine whether there are opportunities to drive value through centralization of M&E platforms, investment tools, or SOPs or to remove systems barriers that negatively impact current cost of capital.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, product management, and/or manufacturing teams.

  • Track record of driving cross-functional, team-oriented, data-driven, structured problem-solving.

  • Impactful communicator with experience working and leading cross-culturally in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc.

  • Ability to analyze and simplify complex, technical problems and articulate complicated trade-offs to key stakeholders and decision makers.

  • Active listener who seeks multiple perspectives to make informed decisions.

  • Strong financial and technical acumen associated with the procurement and redeployment of assets, globally, and general understanding of machinery capabilities and GE Vernova’s manufacturing and service applications.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%, as required.

  • Change Management expertise - proven experience applying lean and delivering results that reduce safety, quality, delivery, and cost risks associated commonly created by large-scale transformational and organizational changes.

  • Strong understanding of the energy industry and commercial awareness of the business' products and services in global markets.
