Pharmacist - Casual

Under general direction, provides prescribed medications and pharmaceutical products for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. Advises/consults with medical staff, other health professionals, patients and families on pharmaceutical and patient care issues.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.

2. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.

3. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; and advising interventions.

4. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.

5. Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; and counseling patients on drug therapies.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a BS Pharm or PharmD Degree.
