Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Seeking 3 Machine Operators, 2 for the 2nd shift and 1 for the 3rd shift. As a Machine Operator, you will be drawing fibers and creating glass preform rods. You will take these glass preform rods up a tower and, using gravity and heat, draw them out into tiny fibers. This position might also involve some coating tasks. You will work in a cage lift environment that is neither too open nor too tight. However, this job may not be suitable for individuals with extreme fears of heights or claustrophobia, or those with pacemakers.

Hard Skills

• Some manufacturing experience, preferably machine operating

• Mechanically inclined

• Open to someone with only trade school or technical high school experience

• Good with heights

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Avon, Connecticut.

Work Environment

Monday-Friday shifts with the following times: 1st shift: 7:00am-3:00pm, 2nd shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm, 3rd shift: 11:00pm-7:00am. Some overtime is available on a voluntary basis. The production floor is very clean, quiet, well-lit, and organized. You will work on a manufacturing floor where steel-toe shoes and safety glasses are required. You will be part of a team of 5, with a team lead on each shift working alongside you.
