Summary About the position: This position is located at Deja Brew on Area F. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special occasions. Responsibilities Overseas all assigned employees during shift. Works along with employees and sets the pace. Provides on the job training. Prepares a variety of hot beverages such as cappuccinos, brewed coffee, lattes, espresso, hot chocolate, etc. by selecting proper ingredients. Serves cold beverages and food items, such as soda, juices, cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Provides work direction to subordinates, demonstrates proper work methods, provides work related guidance, ensures necessary products are available and that employees follow security, safety, and housekeeping standards. Performs the same kind of work as subordinates. Receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to patrons. Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner. Sets up/cleans tables for customers and replenishes condiment items as necessary. Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as coffee machines. Completes inventories, identifies items and prepares necessary forms for re-ordering. May be required to prepare documentation for cash refunds accountability. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in a restaurant, coffee shop or resale operation. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food and beverages, and for cleaning equipment and work area. Prior cash handling experience is preferred. Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
