Assists various different surgical departments with medical records management. Protects the privacy and security of medical records to ensure confidentiality. Transfers medical health record information to ensure charts are completed and audits for encounter closures.Processes timely requests by preparing, scanning, and indexing protected patient health information in the electronic medical record system. Assists with the release of patient records by scanning and exporting documents to external providers as needed. Also works closely with the Health Information Management (HIM) team for patient access to documents.Maintains and organizes monthly charts to ensure they are readily accessible for future reference.Skillfully triages phone calls by directing them to the appropriate department or guiding to the correct contacts.Contributes to the implementation of strategic initiatives and projects within the ASC by building and managing necessary resources. Handles additional administrative and clerical tasks to support both medical care and operational functions.Performs other related duties as assigned.
