Charles Schwab and Company, Inc. is hiring a(n) Sr Specialist - Software Development and Engineering (ref. Code 2025-106867 in Austin, TX.

Duties: Design and implement web and standalone application using Java/J2EE and modern technologies to support large, complex, mission critical trading applications. Participate in various software engineering projects using advanced development patterns and component-based architecture. Maintain Schwab Bond Source (SBS) in order to provide a comprehensive Fixed Income Trading platform to Schwabs internal and external clients, as well as external dealer and regulatory agency systems. Collaborate with the team in ongoing development, including design, development, review, integration, test and deployment activities, which includes: projects, maintenance, and production support activities. Apply emerging technologies to the software development process. Analyze both business and system requirements to create high level and detailed design documents. Design and architect to meet functional requirements while ensuring aspect such as scalability, availability, and fault tolerance are maintained. Utilize J2EE technology on RESTful and SOA based web service development. Collaborate with an extended, remote team to deliver products in a timely manner and examine the quality of the code written by offshore team by ensuring proper design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 36 months of experience in a related occupation. Related skills may be required.
