Charles Schwab Sr Specialist, Software Developer Austin, Texas

Collaborate with product owners and business partners to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose narratives, design features, and prioritize tasks)
Deliver new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment
Developing and providing production support to backend systems running batch jobs in Control-M and messaging in RabbitMQ
Serve as an informal leader: leading code reviews and mentoring junior team members
Partner with scrum master and product owner to build development sizing & cost analysis estimates
Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks including test driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery
Support integration efforts to build whole systems from various subsystems
Identify technology risks early and establish mitigation plans
What you have

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Engineering OR related degree and/or practical experience
Professional level .NET web and service development skills, typically built through 3-5 years of applicable experience developing in C#, .NET, .NET Core, ASP.Net, MVC, or other Microsoft based development tools
Experience developing/managing REST and SOAP-based Web Service API(s) in a transaction processing environment
1-2 years of experience developing front-end web applications using: ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Backbone or other frameworks.
Experience in enhancing and troubleshooting data processing related to financial statements and regulatory statements
Development experience in SQL stored procedures, CRUD operations and indexes
Experience participating as a member of a scrum team in an agile environment
Ability to solve complex environmental and data issues in production and non-production environments
Ability to participate in coordinated application and platform architecture design sessions
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Effective relationship builder: ability to partner multi-functionally and work effectively with different levels and functions within an organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Financial industry knowledge, specifically in the retirement plan services domain
Experience with non-relational (unstructured) database systems such as NoSQL, MongoDB etc.
Backend job management in Control-M
Experience with cloud technologies such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, containers, or other cloud platforms
Experience using test automation tools such as Selenium, Karma, Sparta, Load Runner or other testing tools and frameworks
